Dr. Mohammed Nurhuseen, associate professor of medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, and Mr. Saleh Younis, president of Pinnacle College in Los Angeles, were among the participants of a conference that was held at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The conference, titled "Law, Politics and Islam in Africa," was held from April 12 to14. Intellectuals of the Horn of Africa, Eritreans, Ethiopians, Sudanese, Somali, Kenyans, Tanzanians, and European and American scholars were invited to present papers. Minia Afeworki interviewed the two scholars about the conference.
