Residents of the town of Ilfata told the Afan Oromo service’s Nigussu Negawo that many are suffering from hunger in their community.
Dhugasa Hunde, a farmer and resident of Ilfata wereda, told VOA about the impact of a critical food security problem in western Shoa.The community is not accessible by road and is not served by any non-governmental organizations, according to Gutu Mulisa, a member of the People’s House of Representatives who represents that region of Oromiya.
Olbana Lellisa, a member of the Oromian parliament, and Gutu confirmed the health crisis and described similar dire food security reports from the southern region.
