Ethiopia's Federal police on Wednsday moring arrested a suspect in the death of 25-year-old Brian Adkins, a U.S. diplomat.
Adkins' body was found in his home in Addis on February 2 by embassy colleagues when he failed to report to work that day.
Ethiopian federal police spokesman Demsash Hailu told VOA that the suspect was found in possession of Adkin's camera, cell phone and laptop computer. Police and U.S. embassy sources declined to give details as the case is still under investigation. The death is also being investigated by the U.S. Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
Adkins was on his first overseas assignment as a Pickering Fellow and worked in the consul's office in Addis. He was found dead in his home last Monday. He was a native of Columbus, Ohio, and a graduate of the Elliott School at George Washington University.
