Asegde Gebre Silasse, one of the founding members of the Tigrai People's Liberation Front, discusses his former party's relationship with its Eritrean counterpart, the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front, in “Gahadi,” a book he recently published. Gahadi which means crystal clear in Tigrigna.
The author says the relationship between the two parties was of a master and a servant from the beginning. He describes the early unhealthy relationships between the two parties and some of the issues that led to the bloody war between Ethiopians and Eritreans.
As an eyewitness to history, Asgede said he wants to “to inform the new generation about the real political relationships of the parties.” This is one of eight manuscripts he has written about the TPLF’s political and military history and he is looking for financial support to publish the rest.
