Two women are touring the United States, raising money to care for children in Ethiopia who are affected by HIV/AIDS. The director of Mary Joy Aid Through Development, Zebider Zewedie, a nurse by profession, founded the charitable organization. She single handedly raised the funds to build an organization that has managed to assist over 4000 children, connecting them with sponsors in Ethiopia and all over the world. She is currently joined in the effort by a prominent HIV/AIDS activist, Berhane Kelkaye. Their travels through the United States are sponsored by the United Nations Childrens Fund, UNICEF.
Tizita Belachew interviewed the pair and talked to a six year old orphaned child, who is a beneficiary of Mary Joy Aid Through Development. (click the link above listen to the interview in Amharic)
