In an interview to mark Africa Malaria Day 2006, two Ethiopian health experts told VOA that the nation has not had a major malaria outbreak this year for the first time in several years. Dr. Agonafer Tekalegne, Secretary General of Malaria Consortium-Ethiopia, a non-governmental anti-malaria group and Dr. Dhadi Jima, of the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, say the success is a result of effective preventive measures. Dr.Tekalegne and Dr. Agonafer spoke to VOA reporter Tizita Belachew.
