Women of Ethiopia Say Life is Better

In recognition of International Women's Day, March 8, VOA reporters in Addis Ababa and Mekelle took their microphones to the streets to measure public attitudes toward women.

According to interviews with a policewoman, a nurse, a woman who sells food on the streets of Addis, domestic workers and a prostitute, opportunities have gotten better for woman in several ways: there is now a law that protects women from harassment, and Ethiopia's business and educational institutions have opened their doors to more women.
