U.S. basketball star LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers became the National Basketball Association's all-time leading scorer Tuesday, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. James needed 36 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder but scored 38 giving him a total of 38,390 points.
