Organizational Culture In Ethiopia's Entities

Yilma Adamu, expert in organizational management, currently with the US patent and trade agency, discusses about what defines a well-managed agency. He also weighs in on the management culture of the Ethiopian airlines that led up to its success of over 60 years.

He reasons why Ethiopia failed to duplicate the airline’s successful management model elsewhere in its public sector. Parts of the blame, he says, lies with lack of clear vision and shortage of well trained man power on behalf of individual organizations and lack of of well defined goals as a nation in general. The political crises that dominated the country for over 30 years, Yilma explains, is the main source of failure to build efficient management system in Ethiopia.

In a series: Organizational Culture In Ethiopia, Yilma told VOA Amharic’s Alula Kebede, that lack of sense of ownership and belongingness of employees and leaders alike (in these organizations) has contributed for further deterioration of qualities of services and products.
