First Roasting Plant in Ethiopia

For Afan Oromo’s agriculture and development report, Nigusu Negawo reports on coffee grower Ali Hussein Mohammed’s estimated $1.6 million investment in the nation’s first coffee roaster and processing plant. Ali’s Alfos Company in Addis Ababa exports more than 10,000 tons of coffee a year and hopes to export his processed Ethiopian coffees to the United States, Japan, Europe and the Middle East.
